Lesley Windsor

Lesley was born in England but raised in the United States.  She was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California and then continued her education at the Boston Conservatory of Music.  Whilst at the conservatory she was the winner of the prestigious Concerto Competition. Other competition accomplishments include vocal winner of the La Jolla Symphony Music Competition and the Operatic Potential Award in the San Diego Regional Metropolitan Opera Auditions.

Lesley was a Studio Artist with Chautauqua Opera, an Artist-in-Residence withDayton Opera and an Apprentice Artist with Michigan Opera Theatre.  Operatic roles include Hansel (Hansel and Gretel), Clarina (La Cambiale), Carmen (Carmen),Cherubino (Marriage of Figaro), La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi). Public Opinion(Orpheus and the Underworld), Mercedes (Carmen) and Sophie (Die Fledermaus). She made her British Recital debut with Bellini to Bernstein at the Purcell Room at London’s South Bank Centre, a concert which was revived last year at the Jacqueline du Pre Hall, Oxford and the Westminister Hall, London. Other concert work includes a solo classical evening at St John’s Smith Square, together with numerous concert venues throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.

Lesley appeared as Madame Giry in The Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, Germany as well as playing the role on numerous occasions at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End.  Other West End credits include appearing as an original cast member of the Olivier Award winning production of City of Angels. On the lighter side she received critical acclaim for her performance in The Great Musicalswhich enjoyed sold out audiences in Babbacombe, Eastbourne and Poole over 2 years.  This was followed by West End to Broadway, Lorna in Lorna Doone and a UK tour of Showstoppers.  Most recently, Lesley performed as the mezzo soprano soloist with Occasion Music during their tour of the Baltics, onboard Voyages of Discovery’s Classical Experience sponsored by ClassicFM.
